ADHD & Neurodivergent Coaching in Dubai

ADHD & NEURODIVERGENT COACHING

Online ADHD and neurodivergent coaching for adults in Dubai and across the UAE

I provide online ADHD and neurodivergent coaching for adults in Dubai and across the UAE, focused on personal and professional goals, executive functioning, attention, emotional regulation, relationships, burnout, confidence and self-understanding.

You may be looking for coaching because ADHD or other aspects of neurodivergence are affecting your work, relationships or how you feel about yourself.

You might be experiencing burnout or executive functioning challenges, finding that attention difficulties are affecting work or home life, struggling with emotional regulation, stress or performance, or feeling misunderstood within an intimate relationship or at work.

You may already have an ADHD or other neurodivergent diagnosis, or you may self-identify as neurodivergent.

ADHD is a neurological difference, and the aim of coaching isn't to change your ADHD or make you function in a more neurotypical way. Instead, we work with your individual way of functioning, the goals you want to achieve and the particular challenges or blocks that may be getting in the way.

The focus is on helping you move towards your personal or professional coaching goals, while developing greater confidence in yourself and your capacity to achieve them.

What Can ADHD Coaching Help With?

ADHD coaching can help adults work towards personal and professional goals involving executive functioning, attention, emotional regulation, work performance, relationships, burnout, confidence and self-understanding.

There isn't one particular reason people come to neurodivergent coaching. Your goals might relate to something you are struggling with now, something you would like to change, or something you want to achieve in the future.

We might work with:

Executive functioning

Understanding executive-function load and finding ways of managing task initiation, procrastination, competing demands, organisation, commitments and deadlines.

Attention

Exploring what affects your attention and developing practical ways of supporting and regulating it.

Work and performance

Presentations, deadlines, confidence, performance, career development or feeling unable to fulfil your potential at work.

Emotional regulation

Working with emotional intensity, anxiety, sensitivity, overwhelm or difficulty regulating responses.

Burnout and stress

Identifying contributing factors and considering what can change to create greater balance, self-care and restoration.

Relationships

Feeling misunderstood, understanding another person's feelings or viewpoint, navigating commitments and responding to criticism.

Confidence and self-belief

Working with self-criticism, low self-esteem, imposter feelings or a lack of confidence that may be holding you back.

Neurodivergent self-understanding

Developing greater self-acceptance and compassion, recognising your individual strengths and identifying additional support where it may be useful.

The same difficulty can have very different underlying factors for different people. The coaching therefore needs to fit the individual rather than the individual having to fit the coaching.

ADHD Coaching for Adults in Dubai

ADHD can affect much more than concentration. It can influence attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation, relationships, confidence, work and your ability to translate what you know you are capable of into what you are actually able to do.

This is why I don't approach ADHD coaching as a standard set of productivity techniques or strategies that every ADHD adult should follow.

Instead, we look at the particular goal you want to achieve, what may be getting in the way and what you need in order to move forward.

For example, struggling with presentations at work might initially look like a straightforward performance issue. For one person, the block might involve self-confidence. For another, attention-related difficulties may make it harder to organise their thoughts. Anxiety, emotional regulation or a strong somatic response may be contributing for someone else.

Each of these requires a different way of working.

Depending on your individual needs, coaching might involve practical strategies, attention-related skills, grounding or breathing techniques, understanding executive-function load, emotional regulation, confidence or self-belief.

Your existing strengths are also part of the work. Sometimes a strength you already possess can be utilised to support an area in which you are struggling.

The goal remains yours. My role is to help us understand what may be getting in the way and find a pathway forward that works with you rather than against you.

Individualised coaching

Working with your goals, strengths and particular way of functioning.

Executive Functioning, Attention & Emotional Regulation

Executive functioning can affect how you start, organise, prioritise and complete tasks, particularly when you are managing multiple demands at work or at home.

You might know exactly what needs to be done but struggle to get started, procrastinate, move between competing priorities, lose track of deadlines or become overwhelmed as demands build up.

Rather than assuming the answer is simply to become more organised, we can look at the executive-function load involved and what might make it more manageable.

Attention can also be worked with in different ways. Depending on your needs, this might include practical attention strategies, grounding or breathing techniques, or changes to the way tasks and demands are structured.

Emotional responses can be part of this picture too.

Anxiety, sensitivity, self-criticism, low confidence or imposter feelings can affect your ability to do things you are otherwise capable of doing. At work, this might mean holding yourself back from promotion opportunities, struggling with presentations or doubting your abilities despite evidence that you are capable.

Coaching gives us an opportunity to understand what is happening underneath these difficulties rather than simply trying to push through them.

The aim is to increase the options available to you and develop ways of working that support how you function.

ADHD, Neurodivergence & Relationships

ADHD and neurodivergence can influence relationships in ways that are not always immediately recognised.

You may feel misunderstood by a partner, colleague or manager, find it difficult to understand another person's feelings or viewpoint, or experience criticism particularly strongly.

Attention and executive functioning can also affect commitments, communication and deadlines. These difficulties can sometimes be interpreted by another person as a lack of interest, care or commitment when that isn't what is happening.

Coaching provides a space to explore your experience, the perspective of the other person and the patterns occurring between you.

The work might involve communication, emotional regulation, managing commitments, responding to criticism, understanding different perspectives or identifying practical supports that reduce recurring difficulties.

The aim isn't to teach you to relate in a more neurotypical way. It is to help you understand these patterns and develop ways of navigating relationships that work better for you and the people who matter to you.

Neurodivergent Burnout & Overwhelm

Burnout can develop when the demands being placed on you repeatedly exceed the capacity and resources you have available to meet them.

Work pressures, executive-function load, relationships, emotional regulation and the ongoing effort involved in meeting expectations can all contribute.

When you are already overwhelmed, coaching shouldn't simply become another way of helping you tolerate more demands.

Instead, we can look at what is contributing to the burnout and where change may be possible.

Self-care is an integral part of burnout management. This might involve examining commitments and demands, recognising what repeatedly depletes your energy, identifying where additional support may be useful and exploring what genuinely provides restoration.

Sometimes change involves doing something differently. At other times, it may involve reducing demands or reconsidering expectations that are no longer sustainable.

The aim is greater balance and restoration, rather than simply increasing your capacity to cope with more.

Meet Your Coach

Pete Tobias — Neurodivergent Life Coach in Dubai

I'm neurodivergent myself and have worked extensively with ADHD adults, supporting clients to work towards both personal and professional goals.

My lived experience gives me an understanding of what it can be like to navigate environments, relationships and expectations that don't necessarily operate in the same way that you do. My professional experience also means I don't assume that the same difficulty has the same explanation for every neurodivergent person.

My approach is individualised and neurodiversity-affirming.

We can work with practical strategies where they are useful, while also paying attention to confidence, emotional responses, patterns, strengths, relationships and the wider context in which a difficulty is occurring.

Self-acceptance and compassion are an important part of this work. Recognising ADHD as a neurological difference can provide a different context for experiences that may previously have been understood as personal failings.

The aim is to help you understand and work with yourself more effectively, recognise and utilise your strengths, identify additional supports where they may be useful, and develop greater confidence in yourself and your capacity to achieve your coaching goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is ADHD coaching?

ADHD coaching is a collaborative process focused on the personal or professional goals you want to achieve and the challenges or blocks that may be getting in the way.

The work might involve executive functioning, attention, emotional regulation, confidence, relationships, work performance, burnout or practical strategies. Rather than applying the same ADHD techniques to everyone, coaching is adapted around your individual needs, strengths and goals.

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to work with you?

No. You do not need a formal ADHD or neurodivergent diagnosis to work with me.

I work with adults who have received a diagnosis as well as those who self-identify as neurodivergent and feel that a neurodiversity-affirming approach to coaching fits their experience.

Can ADHD coaching help with executive functioning?

Yes. Executive functioning can be an important part of ADHD coaching, particularly when difficulties with task initiation, procrastination, organisation, prioritising, commitments or deadlines are affecting work or home life.

We can look at your executive-function load, what is making a particular task or situation difficult and practical ways of making those demands more manageable.

Can ADHD coaching help with attention and focus?

Attention-related challenges can be explored as part of ADHD coaching.

Rather than simply telling you to concentrate harder, we can look at what affects your attention in different situations and what might support it. Depending on your needs, this could include practical strategies, changes to how tasks are structured, grounding or breathing techniques, or ways of managing competing demands.

Can ADHD coaching help with emotional regulation?

Emotional regulation can be an important part of coaching, particularly where anxiety, sensitivity, overwhelm, criticism or strong emotional responses are affecting your work, relationships or confidence.

The aim isn't to remove emotion. We can work towards understanding your responses, developing additional ways of regulating them and increasing the options available to you when emotions become activated.

Can neurodivergent coaching help with burnout?

Coaching can help you explore what is contributing to burnout and where change may be possible.

This might include looking at workload, executive-function demands, commitments, sources of stress, self-care and what genuinely provides restoration. The aim isn't simply to increase your capacity to tolerate more demands, but to explore changes that may support greater balance and restoration.

Can ADHD coaching help with confidence and work performance?

Yes. ADHD coaching can include personal and professional goals involving confidence, presentations, performance, career progression, self-criticism or imposter feelings.

We look at what may be creating the particular difficulty. For one person this might involve confidence, while for another it may involve attention, executive functioning, emotional regulation or a combination of factors.

Can ADHD coaching help with relationships?

ADHD and neurodivergence can affect communication, attention, commitments, emotional responses and how criticism or differences in perspective are experienced.

Coaching can provide a space to understand your experience, the other person's perspective and patterns within the relationship, whether these are occurring with a partner, family member, colleague or manager.

How is ADHD coaching different from therapy?

Coaching is primarily focused on your goals in the present and future and helping you identify and work through what may be getting in the way of achieving them.

Although coaching may involve self-understanding, emotional regulation and recognising patterns, it is not a substitute for psychological or mental health treatment where this is needed.

The focus remains on the coaching goals we agree together and the changes you would like to make in your personal or professional life.

Is ADHD and neurodivergent coaching available online in Dubai?

Yes. I provide online ADHD and neurodivergent coaching for adults in Dubai and across the UAE.

Online sessions allow you to access specialist coaching without travelling and to work from an environment that is convenient and comfortable for you.

What happens during a discovery call?

The complimentary 20-minute discovery call is an opportunity to tell me a little about what has brought you to coaching and what you would like to achieve.

We can discuss how I work, consider whether ADHD or neurodivergent coaching may be appropriate for your goals and give you an opportunity to decide whether you would like to work with me.

How do I know whether ADHD coaching is right for me?

You don't need to have everything worked out before making contact.

You may have a very specific goal, such as improving your performance at work or managing executive-function challenges, or simply know that something isn't working as well as you would like.

If you are interested in coaching, the discovery call gives us an opportunity to explore what you want to change or achieve and whether my approach feels like the right fit for you.
